Women’s Empowerment Initiative (WEI)
Profits generated through The Chamber are utilized to fund WEI. The initiative works to train, motivate, and empower women from low socioeconomic backgrounds to become leaders in their communities – with a special focus on newcomers and underserved communities.
Providing tools and resources to help women succeed in all aspects of their lives, WEI fosters a leadership program designed to mentor and empower women by giving them confidence to advocate for themselves, their families, their communities and country.
WEI OFFERINGS
| Career Pathways*
Provides support in identifying necessary steps required to achieve specific career goals and positions with limited financial support toward education, certification, application, specific gear or items needed for the job, and other supports. (Funding by ORR)
| Employment Search + Resume Development
A workshop designed to assist with job search techniques, position qualifiers and resume writing.
| Individual Development Accounts*
Participants receive personal financial management training, including assistance in opening a banking account, The program supports goal-oriented savings with a matching contribution to those who qualify. (Funding by ORR)
| Budget Management
Offering resources and guidance surrounding budgeting, asset management, income and expenditures. Participants learn how to plan for their future, including building savings, increasing financial literacy, and growing economic stability.
| Case Management Access*
Dedicated case management is available for registered clients to assist with navigating the DHS system – helping to ensure benefits, basic needs support as well as help identifying goals towards reaching self-sufficiency.
| Business Development Plan
Comprehensive resources and assistance in building a business plan. Covering things to consider before, during and once operational.

Open discussion and scheduled workshops covering a range of topics including Heath, Nutrition, Mental Health, Wellness, Parenting, Career Trends, Finance & more.

Human Trafficking Initiative
Dedicated support for victims of human trafficking as well as those suffering the effects of violence, abuse, and other atrocities in their lives.
The Chamber links participants to resources and various organizations, specifically service populations having faced these difficulties, provides training to better understand trafficking and works to support financial needs of victims to end their victimization and become survivors able to live and move forward in their lives.
